SUMMARY
This fundraiser is for National Kick Butts Day and IYTC’s anniversary. For artistic inspiration, here is some more information on this year's prompts:
Kick Butts Day
Kick Butts Day is a national event organized by Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids for youth to amplify their voice against Big Tobacco. It is a day of anti-smoking activism for all demographics, but particularly youth. Events are organized by teachers, students, and health advocates to raise awareness of the rising problem of tobacco use in their state or community, encourage youth to reject the false advertising of the tobacco industry and stay tobacco free, and urge elected officials to protect kids from tobacco.
International Youth Tobacco Control's 5th Anniversary
International Youth Tobacco Control (IYTC) is a student-run 501(c)3 nonprofit that seeks to prevent teenage tobacco use globally. We are composed of over 200 middle, high school, and college students in Canada, China, Japan, Pakistan, the Philippines, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the United States. Through our educational efforts over the past five years (almost), we’ve spread awareness to 200,000 youths internationally, and we have legislatively impacted 15 million adolescents. We can’t wait to see what year five brings us!
Holding a fundraiser for both events reminds us of IYTC’s beginnings and how everyday is a Kick Butts Day for us.
